"Short battery life, fairly good audio, great range..." 2009-07-16
By H. Sapiens (Sacramento, CA United States)
Despite the fact they remind me of Home Automation 50A00-1 Panic/alert Pendant as you wear it like a necklace. In ear, it resembles something like the Cybermen's brain control device from Doctor Who. Which is to say, big and awkward not for long duration use.

~Pros~

1) range is great: I can cruise around my building looking like a hottie with a serious ear wax problem... I can go at least 20 feet out of line of sight, doors closed with my iphone left on my desk

2) Easy to connect if you follow the instructions, which were simple

3) Works with the iphone (mostly)

4) Volume and pause control are easy to operate in-ear

~Cons~

1) Battery life so-so - I get about 6 hours of use

2) Use for hands-free average - I had trouble being heard (the microphone is in one of the ear buds)

3) Who did they design these for? Hagrid's ears??? Seriously, they hurt me after an hour (the ear bud is too big, too deep, and the unit puts an additional pull on my ear canals - darn you, Newton).

4) The music forward/reverse button does not operate using my iPhone.

5) Non-standard chargers irk me - standard mini-usb would have been more travel friendly.

6) Magnets hold the two ear pieces together - so...maybe not so pacemaker friendly??

Bottom line: I don't care that I look dorky if they work - however the pros versus cons make me feel sort of lukewarm about this headset. Personally, I would only recommend it if you have larger ear canals. Otherwise, ouch!

Update 5 months later: I am adding a star because these work wonderfully when cycling. I leave 1 in and the other under my jersey. My phone usually in my saddle bag - I can receive calls and music clearly. Sometimes if I jerk my head quickly there is a slight disruption, but all in all - these are must haves for longer trips.
